Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Project

The Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) Project was developed to ensure that RA Tas is providing a welcoming and accessible service to all Tasmanians, regardless of background. The project involved working with internal staff to help promote accessibility. Additionally, consultation with CaLD communities, and CaLD focused organisations helped to identify the current Tasmanian cultural profile, and the needs and barriers that are present for CaLD Tasmanians in accessing services.

RA Tas’s push to ensure culturally appropriate service delivery for those from diverse backgrounds was incredibly well received by the community. Invaluable insights were gained, and positive connections made with a range of networks including Migrant Resource Centre, Australian Red Cross, Save the Children, Glenorchy City Council, the University of Tasmania, and the Greek Community Club. These connections have resulted in opportunities for ongoing engagement, dual-referral pathways, and partnerships aimed at welcoming and celebrating cultural diversity.

The project was able to highlight key strengths and promote accessibility to services at RA Tas.
