Recently, representatives from the Clinical & Services Development team at RA Tas had the opportunity to participate in Groups 4 Health (G4H) training at the University of Queensland (UQ) School of Psychology.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our focus was to understand how the program could benefit our community by addressing social disconnection and loneliness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G4H is an evidence-based intervention model designed to minimise social isolation and loneliness through structured modules that provide participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical experiences aimed at improving social connectedness and overall wellbeing. Participants not only learn about building and maintaining social connections theoretically but also engage in real-life group activities that reinforce these concepts and facilitate genuine social interactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At RA Tas, our mission revolves around increasing community wellbeing and reducing social isolation. The principles of G4H align perfectly with these objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our training experience at the UQ School of Psychology has highlighted the importance of evidence-based approaches in addressing social challenges, reinforcing our commitment to exploring avenues that will enable us to bring valuable resources like G4H to those who need it most.<\/p>\n\n\n
